Clear pay estimates, without the black box.
NursePay is a set of free educational calculators for nurses comparing shifts, travel contracts, and PRN offers. Every result is based on visible inputs and documented arithmetic.
Why NursePay exists
Healthcare compensation is often presented as a headline number that hides the assumptions underneath. An hourly rate may exclude night or weekend premiums. A travel package may combine taxable wages and stipends. A PRN offer may look larger until paid leave, insurance, and retirement contributions are considered. NursePay separates those components so a nurse can ask better questions before accepting an assignment or relying on a paycheck estimate.
The calculators are intentionally narrow. They do not ask for an employer name, recommend a staffing company, or claim to reproduce every payroll system. They show one transparent calculation at a time and explain the circumstances that can make the result differ.
Who publishes the site
NursePay is published by Tickleflame LLC, an independent app studio. NursePay is not owned by a hospital, staffing agency, payroll processor, insurer, union, or financial institution. Employers and agencies do not pay to appear in results, and there are no sponsored offer rankings.
The site may display advertising to support free access. Advertising does not change a calculation or the educational content. Advertisements are visually labeled and kept separate from calculator controls and results.
How the information is maintained
Calculator formulas are documented on the methodology page. Educational explanations prefer primary public sources, including the U.S. Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service, Bureau of Labor Statistics, and published regulations. Pages show a review date so readers can tell when the explanation was last checked.
That review process cannot turn a general calculator into an individualized payroll, tax, legal, or insurance determination. Federal guidance may not cover a more protective state rule. A union agreement or written employer policy may provide richer compensation. Tax treatment depends on facts that NursePay does not collect. Users should verify important decisions with the relevant employer documents and a qualified professional.
Privacy by design
The calculators run from the values entered in the browser. No account is required. NursePay does not need a nurse’s name, employer, license number, patient information, or payroll credentials to produce an estimate. Users should never paste patient data, tax identifiers, banking details, or confidential employer material into a calculator field.

What a good estimate should accomplish
A useful estimate should make uncertainty visible. It should help someone identify whether a differential stacks, whether overtime uses a regular rate, whether hours are guaranteed, whether benefits were priced, and whether a stipend assumption needs tax review. It should not make a complicated offer look certain by hiding those questions.
NursePay’s goal is simple: show the arithmetic, explain the limitations, and make the source document easier to question. Your employer’s payroll records, contract, benefit plan, collective-bargaining agreement, and applicable law remain authoritative.
